Faculty of Information Technology, Dai Nam University: Innovation in training programs - meeting current needs, long-term preparation for the future labor market
The 4.0 revolution combines the real world, the virtual world and the biological world. It can be understood as a revolution in smart manufacturing based on breakthrough achievements in the fields of Information Technology (IT), Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, ... with the foundation of Digital Technology. To anticipate the trend and provide high-quality human resources for the 4.0 Revolution, Dai Nam University, with a team of experts, staff, and excellent lecturers with many years of experience working and teaching at major universities in the country and IT enterprises in the US, Russia, Korea, etc., has innovated its IT training program. According to objective assessments by experts, Dai Nam University is currently one of the training institutions with the most profound changes in its IT training program. Currently, the new program is being applied to K15 students with a study period at the school from 2021 - 2024.

New training program meets human resource needs in the IT field for the 4.0 revolution
One of the outstanding features of the new training program is the design of updated and closely related knowledge streams to meet the requirements of the 4.0 revolution to achieve the goal: after each year of study, students have enough capacity to meet the job positions of the labor market. Specifically:
- After 1st year: IT Specialist;
- After second year: Programmer;
- After third year: Design engineer;
- After fourth year (graduation): System Architect.
In addition, if students want to become IT teachers in high schools, they need to study for a teaching certificate.

The training program is built according to the Top – Down approach.
The training program is built according to the Top-Down approach, which can be understood as: Starting from the big picture, practical problems, basic skills, going to the necessary concepts. Then, applying the concepts to more complex problems, to practice skills.
For example. To introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI), we will start with a real-world application of audio recognition: speech recognition, error recognition in machine speech.
Then concepts are introduced to formalize the problem and solutions along with skill training.
New training program focuses on practice
IT practice is a compulsory subject in the training program. Students will study this subject continuously for 8 semesters of 4 years at the School. Each week, students have a day of practice at the School's workshop. Here, students learn new technologies, practice projects and practice the theoretical knowledge they have learned. It can be said that on the practice day, students will work in an environment similar to working in businesses after graduation. Therefore, students have been well prepared for working skills before graduating from the School. Currently, such a learning environment is not available in many universities nationwide.

From the beginning, businesses have participated in building the school's training program and will accompany them throughout the training process. IT students of the school will be exposed to the latest technologies from Amazon, Microsoft and Google. This is an ideal learning environment. In addition, many large IT companies have close ties with the school to accept students for internships and jobs after graduation.

- About the teaching staff
Currently, 44% of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Information Technology of the School are Associate Professors and PhDs, many of whom have taught and worked at major universities and research institutes in the country as well as abroad such as the US, Russia, Korea, etc. The teachers directly develop and teach the program. This is an important factor for the new training program to be successfully implemented.
- About facilities and learning materials
The School has paid attention to building facilities as well as teaching materials to implement the new program. The spacious practice room is equipped to meet the goals of IT practice hours in 4 years of training, which are vocational training hours from basic to advanced.
