Tourism training in the 4.0 era
In the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution, the tourism industry is one of the key economic sectors of the country. The Government's master plan for the development of Vietnam's tourism industry to 2020, with a vision to 2030, clearly states: Developing the tourism industry into a key economic sector of the country; the employment target by 2020 is 2.9 million workers (including 870,000 direct workers), by 2025 is 3.5 million workers (including 1.05 million direct workers) and by 2030 is 4.7 million workers (including 1.4 million direct workers).

However, the human resources provided by current training institutions do not meet the actual requirements of enterprises. After receiving personnel, enterprises still have to spend a lot of time and effort to retrain. During this process, enterprises also encounter many difficulties, when managers must also take on the role of trainers. In addition, retraining is mainly based on the method of imparting experience, lacking specific skills and knowledge.
The 4.0 industrial revolution is being widely applied to all areas of social life, including the tourism industry. Therefore, tourism training facilities - the main engine of the tourism industry, also need to have strong changes to adapt to the development of technology.
Issues that tourism training institutions need to innovate include: Innovation of training programs and curricula, increasing the duration of practice and internship at enterprises; improving and updating professional and technological qualifications for the teaching staff; applying new technologies in teaching theory and practice; students need to be trained in additional soft skills, new technology application skills, communication skills and foreign language use in business activities; linking schools with enterprises, training according to the needs of enterprises and society...

Regarding facilities: Investing in building new technical facilities with a full system of theoretical classrooms and practice rooms meeting 3-star standards to meet the teaching, practice and internship needs of students. On July 10, 2017, the Faculty of Tourism opened a practice facility for students - Lotus Legend Hotel with full functions and meeting the standards of a 3-star hotel at 19 7 Tran Phu, Ha Dong .
Regarding the staff and lecturers: The staff and lecturers of the Faculty, from permanent lecturers to guest lecturers, are all people with practical experience in large enterprises, qualified pedagogical qualifications, have attended training programs according to Vietnamese tourism standards, are regularly trained to improve their professional qualifications and skills, and have a passion and dedication to tourism training...
Regarding the training program: The entire training program is reviewed and adjusted to best suit the needs of the Enterprise and especially applies modern, active teaching methods, focusing on " Students as the center ". On the basis of inheriting existing documents and subjects, the Faculty of Tourism also organizes the compilation and introduction of new practical subjects into the training program such as: Responsible tourism with the environment and society, Internal communication culture in Enterprises, Project planning and startup methods, Small hotel management... creating specialized training groups for students.

Students are always the center of training activities at the Faculty of Tourism.
Regarding training methods: Diversify training methods, serve many students in society, ensure output for businesses and mobilize many resources to serve human resource training in the tourism industry. In 2018, the faculty has built and linked a network of businesses to receive students for internships and work across the country such as: Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Sapa, Da Nang, Nha Trang...

(Changing teaching methods to practical approaches for students)
Ensuring output for students: 100% of students after graduation will meet the standards to work at domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and enterprises and will be introduced to jobs by the Faculty at domestic and foreign Enterprises and Corporations.

Survey data and statistics at the beginning of the 12th course show that most students enroll in the Faculty of Tourism because they recognize the faculty's strengths in tourism training associated with practice. Specific indicators such as the reason students choose to study at the Faculty of Tourism, Dai Nam University is because the school has a modern internship facility (82%), because the training program is organized for students to practice at the practice facility, have practical experience (98%), because the faculty commits to introducing jobs to students after graduation (96%), etc. Along with that, the change in the training method of the Faculty of Tourism has also won the trust of businesses and tourism corporations.
