With a total score of 8.54 and a total training score of 92, student Duong Thi Quyen became the Valedictorian of the Banking and Finance major, majoring in corporate finance, Dai Nam University, and was also in the Top 86 Outstanding Valedictorians and was honored at the Ceremony to Honor Outstanding Valedictorians of Universities and Academies in Hanoi in 2019 (October 28). This is the third year that Dai Nam University has had an outstanding Valedictorian chosen by Hanoi City to be honored.

86 excellent valedictorians from universities and academies in Hanoi were honored in 2019.

The Ceremony to honor the excellent graduates of universities and students in Hanoi is an annual activity organized by the City Party Committee, People's Council - People's Committee of Hanoi. This activity demonstrates Hanoi's concern for the cause of education, training and nurturing the young generation; at the same time, it is a recognition and praise for the learning and training results, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and striving of the capital's students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Van Quy, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee affirmed that the 86 excellent valedictorians gathered here represent tens of thousands of young bachelors, engineers, doctors, and pharmacists graduating from many different professions, to be honored and shoulder the responsibility to society. This is truly a high-quality human resource, a priceless asset, a precious "vital energy" source of the Capital and the country.

Dai Nam University's valedictorian was honored at the 2019 Commendation Ceremony.

Expressing his expectations and assigning tasks to the excellent valedictorians, Mr. Ngo Van Quy hoped that the valedictorians would consider this as the first step to continue to improve and constantly progress; cultivating lifelong morality following the example of beloved Uncle Ho.

2019 is the 17th consecutive year that Hanoi City has organized a ceremony to honor outstanding valedictorians graduating from universities and academies in the city. After 17 years, 1,791 valedictorians have been honored, many of whom have been successful in their careers and have made many contributions to the capital and the country.

This year, among the 86 valedictorians honored, 54 valedictorians (accounting for 62.8%) have excellent academic results (overall score ≥ 9.0/10.0 according to the academic year system and ≥ 3.6/4.0 according to the credit system); 35 valedictorians are party members; 16 excellent valedictorians are Youth Union and Association officials. Notably, among the 86 excellent valedictorians, there are 7 double valedictorians (being both valedictorian of university admissions and valedictorian of graduation).

With a total score of 8.54 and a total training score of 92, student Duong Thi Quyen, Faculty of Finance - Banking, Dai Nam University, was selected by the Council as the Excellent Valedictorian through her application and became one of 86 excellent Valedictorians graduating from universities and students in Hanoi in 2019 to be honored at the Valedictorian Commendation Ceremony.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University represented the school to present flowers to congratulate student Duong Thi Quyen.

This is the fourth year that Dai Nam University has had an excellent Valedictorian selected by Hanoi City. Previously, student Dang Minh Phuong, Faculty of Finance and Banking with a GPA of 9.0 was selected by Hanoi City to be the Excellent Valedictorian in 2014; student Cao Thi Thu Oanh, Faculty of Finance and Banking with a GPA of 9.07 was also excellently in the Top of the Excellent Valedictorians honored in 2015; student Phung Thi Dam, Faculty of Business Administration with an average good score of 8.69 was honored as the Excellent Valedictorian in 2016.

Sharing with us, Duong Thi Quyen could not hide her emotion and pride when representing Dai Nam University students to connect and exchange with excellent valedictorians from universities and students in Hanoi.

“Today’s success is just the beginning for me to embark on a new journey in the future. I would like to share my joy, pride and send my deep gratitude to the teachers of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, the teachers in the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University and my family who have always encouraged and created conditions for me to study and practice throughout the 4 years of study. I will apply all the knowledge and skills I have learned from university to my actual work, seek success to always be worthy of the title of Valedictorian and be proud to be a student of Dai Nam University…” Valedictorian Duong Thi Quyen shared.

Becoming one of 86 excellent valedictorians in Hanoi to be honored is not only a joy and honor for student Duong Thi Quyen but also a pride for Dai Nam University. Duong Thi Quyen as well as many other students of Dai Nam who have been honored at the Valedictorian Award Ceremony is proof and affirmation to society about the training quality of Dai Nam University. Generations of Dai Nam students will apply and promote the knowledge accumulated during the learning process into life, to become positive factors contributing worthily to the cause of building and protecting the country. They themselves will be the "bricks" to build the "foundation" of sustainable development of Dai Nam University in the country's education, affirming the brand "Learning to change" and the training quality of Dai Nam University.
