Former Director of the Institute of Information Technology, VNU: "After finishing the first year, DNU IT students can start working"

Having just become the Head of the Faculty of Information Technology at Dai Nam University not long ago, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet - Former Director of the Institute of Information Technology, VNU, member of the IT policy advisory group of Think Tank, VINASA, co-author of the book "Vietnam in the digital transformation era" said that he has built a new IT training program with many improvements to apply from the 2021 - 2022 school year.

With the newly developed training program, after completing the first year, Dai Nam IT students can start working.

According to the newly developed program, the basic subjects will be transferred to the following school years so that from the first year, IT students at Dai Nam University can focus on comprehensive knowledge and skills.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet affirmed: After completing the first year, students of the IT major at Dai Nam University will have enough experience and necessary understanding of computer systems to be able to provide technical support for most basic business requirements. By the end of the second year, students will be proficient in programming according to design requirements. By the end of the third year, students will be able to design applications according to customer requirements. By the fourth year, upon graduation, students will know how to integrate complex systems to meet the requirements of digital transformation and the 4.0 industrial revolution. In addition, students of Dai Nam IT major can obtain the latest technology expert certificates to increase their competitiveness in the global market.

Dai Nam University focuses on promoting cooperation with IT enterprises. Accordingly, enterprises will participate in training students according to their orders so that students have the conditions to pursue practical IT application problems.

Not stopping there, the Faculty of Information Technology also coordinates with other majors in the school to form joint projects with the participation of students in the majors of economics - commerce, mechanics - machine manufacturing, architecture - construction, medicine - pharmacy, foreign languages, ... for the requirements of IT application of these majors, aiming to make IT application capacity a strength of students in all majors at Dai Nam University.

According to the annual alumni employment survey, the rate of Dai Nam IT graduates with jobs in their major is 100%.

Regarding the future of the IT industry, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet said that this is a field of study that changes very quickly, so in addition to cooperation with businesses, lecturers themselves must always update their knowledge to innovate their own teaching curriculum. Because IT is a field related to many application needs, Dr. Nguyen Ai Viet hopes that in the future, there will be regular seminars for students and businesses about these needs.
