With the full scholarship program, the Taiwanese government covers the entire tuition fee of 100,000 Taiwanese dollars per year (approximately 80 million Vietnamese dong); sponsoring companies provide living expenses of 10,000 Taiwanese dollars per month (around 8 million Vietnamese dong), offering many opportunities for studying and working long-term in Taiwan for students in the Information Technology field at Dai Nam University (DNU).

Boosting international partnership programs with major educational institutions worldwide to enable students to expand their horizons, avail themselves of numerous scholarship opportunities, experience studying, working, and establish their reputation in the international market is one of the strategic goals of Dai Nam University.

Especially, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, many study and work opportunities will be opened up for students in the Engineering and Technology fields of the university.

Dai Nam University has also signed cooperation agreements with leading universities in Taiwan to implement the New Specialization Program.

Recently, the Taiwanese government decided to allocate 60 full scholarships under the New Specialization Program in Vietnam to students from the IT field of Dai Nam University's K14 and K15 cohorts.

Students from the IT field of cohorts K14 and K15 at Dai Nam University are excited and eager about the Taiwanese government's 100% scholarship program.

What do students gain from the Taiwanese government's full scholarship program?

With the 3+1+1 dual-degree program, students complete three years of undergraduate training in Information Technology at Dai Nam University. From the fourth year, students go to Taiwan to study.

In the first year in Taiwan, students will study 16 - 22 credits of specialized courses and Chinese language. At the end of this academic year, students will take the B1 Chinese language proficiency exam.

In the second year, students study elective courses; undertake internships at companies (40 hours per week) and earn an income equivalent to 1,000 USD per month (about 25 million VND).

Upon completion of the 5-year program, students receive 2 degrees: Bachelor of Information Technology from Dai Nam University and Engineer from Taiwan.

Mr. Dau Hai Phong - Vice Head of the Information Technology Department, shared specific details about the Taiwanese Government Scholarship Program.

After graduation, students have the opportunity to work for companies in Taiwan (the sponsoring organization providing living expenses) for a minimum of 2 years. They will be assigned jobs suitable to their expertise, with a starting income of 1,000 USD per month.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Tam - Director of the International Training Institute at Dai Nam University stated: IT students will study at Taiwan Daqiang University, a subsidiary of the Taiwan Iron and Steel Corporation. The training program will closely follow the practical needs of the industry, ensuring that students can work effectively while studying.

"If other universities have to seek out companies to connect students with, Dai Nam University students have the advantage of having companies support them in finding employment positions and receive training based on practical application models," she said.

Students eagerly participate in the Taiwan Scholarship Program.

What do students need to do to increase their chances of receiving the scholarship?

Eligible participants in the scholarship program: Students from cohorts K14 and K15 who have completed the entire course program or students from previous cohorts who have graduated.

Regarding language requirements: Students must achieve a TOEIC score of 550 or equivalent in English, or have an A2 level certificate in Chinese.

In case students have not met the language requirements, the International Training Institute at Dai Nam University will organize language training, funded by the Taiwanese government, with a value of 10,000 Taiwanese dollars (about 8 million Vietnamese dong).

For enrollment scholarships, the Taiwanese government provides support of 5,000 Taiwanese dollars (about 4 million Vietnamese dong).

The study abroad period: September 2024.
