With the desire to build a team of cadres and lecturers with solid expertise; proficient teaching skills; practical experience in enterprises, banks, financial institutions; always ready and enthusiastic to inspire passion for the profession in students, recently, the Faculty of Finance - Banking of Dai Nam University has sent young lecturers to practice at large commercial banks, such as: VPBank, TPBank, OCB... This practical knowledge training activity has helped lecturers to be more solid in their professional knowledge and accumulate more valuable knowledge and practical experience.

This practical knowledge training activity has helped lecturers to be more solid in their professional knowledge and accumulate more valuable knowledge and practical experience.

There is an undeniable fact that university education, specifically the capacity of the teaching staff, is lagging far behind the development and actual needs of society. This reality leads to the situation where lecturers teach outdated knowledge in class, causing boredom for students, unintentionally forming a forced teacher-student relationship - teachers are not enthusiastic about teaching, students are not eager to learn.

With the goal of developing into a prestigious and quality applied university that is trusted and well-evaluated by learners and society, Dai Nam University especially focuses on training closely linked to practice, learning goes hand in hand with practice, constantly fostering and improving the capacity of staff and lecturers. Implementing that policy of the University, the Faculty of Finance and Banking is always active in innovating thinking and teaching methods, improving the capacity of staff and lecturers.

With the desire to help the young staff and lecturers of the Faculty to have more access to the practical environment of large banks and financial institutions, thereby improving their professional knowledge and practical capacity, best meeting the requirements for teaching and training, the Faculty of Finance - Banking has recently sent young staff and lecturers to practice at large commercial banks such as: VPBank, TPBank, OCB...

Sharing with us, MSc. Tran Thi Lan Phuong - lecturer of the Faculty of Finance - Banking said: During the field trip, the lecturers of the Faculty received an enthusiastic and warm welcome from the bank staff. Here, the lecturers listened to the branch directors and sector directors share about the history of formation and development of the bank in general and the actual branch in particular. The field trip also helped the young lecturers better understand the practical activities that take place every day and every hour at commercial banks (capital mobilization, total outstanding loans, strong products...) thereby visualizing the overall and comprehensive aspects of the bank's activities through the friendly sharing of the bank staff.

“In addition to a solid foundation of professional knowledge and dedication to the profession, lecturers need to be people with rich practical experience and always have to update themselves so that they do not fall behind the development and practical needs of society. Practical knowledge training activities at enterprises are valuable opportunities for each lecturer to learn and improve to bring better quality lectures to students…”, said MSc. Tran Thi Lan Phuong.

Sharing with the lecturers of the Faculty of Finance - Banking of Dai Nam University, Mr. Nguyen Ba Chi Cong - Director of TPBank Ha Dong branch said: “Finance - Banking is one of the broad majors, related to all transaction services, currency circulation. Regardless of the economic context, Finance - Banking is still a necessary profession. In particular, the recovery of the economy, along with Vietnam joining ASEAN, TPP ... is a "golden" opportunity for the Finance - Banking industry to continue to develop strongly in the future. Currently, the demand for human resources of the Finance - Banking industry is very large and has never been as thirsty for human resources as now. Therefore, to train high-quality human resources largely depends on training from the time they are in school, and no one else but the lecturers. With the cooperation of the Faculty of Finance - Banking of Dai Nam University to bring young lecturers to practice banking, I think it is a correct strategy to contribute to improving practical knowledge, improve teaching quality".

In the coming time, lecturers of the Faculty of Finance and Banking will continue their internships in departments, together with bank officers to carry out practical operations. Hopefully, with the attention of the School's Board of Directors, the Faculty and the support of partner banks, young lecturers of the Faculty of Finance and Banking after the internship will gain valuable practical knowledge to pass on to students.
