In order to ensure that students can work immediately after graduation, Dai Nam University has pioneered in designing an application-oriented training program, "learning goes hand in hand with practice" to narrow the gap between theory and practice, helping students to interact with businesses right from the first year.

To implement that training policy, recently, the Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management in collaboration with the Faculty of Business Administration organized a Practical Simulation Program for students at the largest Logistics Simulation Center in Asia, a Top 20 deep-water port in the world and the largest warehouse system in Vietnam.

The destinations of Dai Nam University students in this experience trip are the Mekong Sub-region Logistics Center - Japan, Vietnam Maritime University; HTM Logistics Warehouse Center of Vidifi Duyen Hai Joint Stock Company; Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Port (TC-HICT).

The experience trip had the participation of Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc - Head of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Faculty, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan - Deputy Head of Business Administration Faculty with staff, lecturers and students of Logistics Club of Dai Nam University.

Experience practical Logistics practice at Asia's largest Logistics training center

Dai Nam University students not only receive in-depth knowledge about Logistics from experts but also directly experience practical Logistics operations from the Mekong Sub-region Logistics Training Center of Japan - Vietnam Maritime University. This is the largest Logistics training center in Asia.

Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Head of Logistics Department, Faculty of Economics; Director of Japan Mekong Sub-region Logistics Center - Maritime University; Vice President of Hai Phong Logistics Association exchanged and shared practical knowledge with students of Dai Nam University Logistics Club.

Specifically, students of the Logistics Club of Dai Nam University will experience practical knowledge about organizing, arranging, dividing and selecting goods in the warehouse; learn about types of warehouse equipment (pallet classification, lifting equipment, loading and unloading equipment, etc.); the meaning of containers in import and export activities; how to choose containers and practical instructions on arranging import and export using containers, etc.

Experience different types of transportation, distribution of goods and warehouse operations

In addition to the experiential activities at the Practical Simulation Room of the Mekong Sub-region Logistics Training Center - Japan, Dai Nam teachers and students also had the opportunity to experience at the HTM Logistics Warehouse Center of Vidifi Duyen Hai Joint Stock Company.

HTM Logistics is known as the leading freight forwarding company in Hai Phong; an enterprise specializing in providing air, sea, rail and road transport services; freight transport and distribution, warehousing and warehouse operations, customs services, forklift, truck, container truck rental, etc.

Dai Nam teachers and students learn about the methods and meanings of selecting and arranging goods in warehouses.

At the warehouse center of HTM Logistics, Dai Nam students learn about warehouse types: CFS warehouse, bonded warehouse, tax-free warehouse, warehouse for export processing enterprises...; the effects of warehouse types and the significance of warehouses participating in import-export activities. Especially the CFS warehouse type (Container Freight Station - LCL warehouse) and the contribution of this type of warehouse in import-export activities.

Not only that, Dai Nam teachers and students also received information from businesses about documents related to import and export activities, customs procedures, procedures for exploiting exported goods at CFS warehouses, storing and preserving goods, procedures and processes for packing goods into containers, etc. How to handle real-life situations arising in warehouse operations, counting, receiving and delivering goods, and resolving customer complaints.

“This is extremely useful and valuable practical knowledge for both teachers and students. If there were only practical experience activities like this in the classroom, teachers and students would not be able to grasp the knowledge to teach and learn in a practical way…”, Dr. Le Thi My Ngoc shared.

Experience the operations of the largest deep-water port in the North, Top 20 largest seaports in the world

Dai Nam teachers and students visited and experienced Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) - top 20 largest seaports in the world.

The third point in the DNU teachers' and students' experience journey is Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) under Saigon Newport Corporation. TC-HICT is in the Top 20 largest ports in the world, capable of receiving large-tonnage container ships with the mission of becoming a center connecting the port system and ICDs in the Northern region, an important link in the Logistics service chain of Saigon Newport Corporation. This is also the largest deep-water port in the North, capable of receiving large-tonnage container ships up to 14,000TEU, providing direct service routes to other continents such as America and Europe.

Teachers and students of Dai Nam learn about the model and operating mechanism of the seaport system under Saigon Newport Corporation.

Here, teachers and students of Dai Nam University learned about the formation, development and operation of the system of seaports under Saigon Newport Corporation; the process of receiving and delivering full containers at the port; the process of loading and unloading import and export goods, container yards, yard frame cranes, gantry cranes, container cranes lifting and lowering goods onto vehicles, wharves, barge docks, etc.

Mr. Bui Quang Huy - Marketing Director of Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal Company Limited (TC-HICT) introduced the activities of the operations department at the port.

Through the practical experience program at Logistics enterprises, lecturers and students of Dai Nam University learn a lot of practical knowledge related to seaport operations. Thereby, lecturers have more practical knowledge to contribute to improving the quality of lectures, students can better understand the theories learned in the classroom.

After the practical experience at the enterprise, lecturers and students have a direct view of logistics activities, the participation of logistics activities in import and export activities, the great significance and contribution of logistics activities to the development of the economy in the context of Vietnam's deep integration with the regional and world economy. The practical trip brings a lot of value not only to students but also to lecturers of the two faculties, who have a more practical view in building a training program in logistics and international business in the direction of experience at Dai Nam University.

There are 2 admission methods for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Dai Nam University:

- Method 1: Use the results of 03 subjects from the high school graduation exam results according to the registered combination for admission. The standard score in 2022 is: 15 points.

- Method 2: Use the results of 03 subjects from the 12th grade high school study results according to the registered combination for admission with a score of 18 points or higher.

- Method 3: Direct admission (Applied according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training).
