Ministry of Education and Training announces 2021 high school graduation exam schedule

The high school graduation exam takes place over 2 days, July 7-8, with 4 exam sessions. The first exam is Literature on the morning of July 7. This is the only subject tested in essay format with a duration of 120 minutes.
The 2021 high school graduation exam schedule specifically includes the following subjects:
Before that, on the afternoon of July 6, candidates must be present at the examination room to complete the examination procedures, correct errors (if any) and listen to the examination regulations and schedule.
High school students must take four exams: literature, math, foreign language and one optional combination exam from two social science or natural science exams. The social science exam includes the subjects: history, geography, civic education; the natural science exam includes physics, chemistry, biology.
The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates: Candidates taking the exam for high school graduation recognition can only register for one combined exam (natural sciences or social sciences). For the foreign language exam, candidates can choose to take one of seven languages: English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean. This is the first year Korean becomes a foreign language in the high school graduation exam.
The Ministry of Education and Training also allows candidates to register for a foreign language exam other than the foreign language they are studying at high school; candidates who are continuing education students can register for a foreign language exam to get the results for university and college admission.
Candidates exempted from the foreign language exam in the consideration of high school graduation recognition include: members of the national team participating in the international olympiad in foreign languages according to the decision of the Minister of Education and Training; Candidates with one of the valid foreign language certificates (same or different from the foreign language subject being studied at high school), valid until at least July 6, 2021 and achieving the minimum score according to specific instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.
