Profile of the "captain" of the Faculty of Finance - Banking, Dai Nam University

Not only is he the “captain” who always firmly steers the ship called Finance – Banking, Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue is also a dedicated teacher to his students. His point of view is “Each lecturer should put himself in the position of the students to know what he has to teach and what he can do to help them have a solid knowledge foundation, thereby helping students confidently establish themselves and start a career”.

Over 30 years in the Finance - Banking industry

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Van Hue - Head of Finance and Banking Department, Dai Nam University

Before joining the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Dai Nam University, Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue had worked for more than 30 years at the National Economics University. Here, he was known as a lecturer in the Faculty of Finance and Banking. At the same time, he held the position of Director of the Training Center for Banking, Finance and Securities of the National Economics University.

During his research and teaching, Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue has published many scientific research works, including: textbooks and reference books on Corporate Finance; Tax; articles published in the Journal of Economics and Development; Journal of Banking Science; and ministerial-level scientific topics.

In addition, Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue has served as an independent consultant for the State Management for Comprehensive Improvement (GIG) project in Vietnam.

With 30 years of experience in the Finance and Banking industry, Associate Professor Dr. Dam Van Hue has guided many PhD students. He has received a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for guiding students in scientific research.

Teaching perspective

With the motto: "Students are above all, only do good things that benefit learners", Associate Professor, Dr. Dam Van Hue always goes deep and closely into the training process, builds outlines, updates appropriate curriculum, and keeps up with new trends. He always guides the teaching staff to innovate teaching methods, bring practical examples into lectures, helping students easily acquire knowledge, and clearly define their subjects and majors.

During each semester, Associate Professor Dr. Dam Van Hue regularly attends TCNH classes to grasp the students' learning situation and the lecturers' teaching methods. Realizing that students' concentration is not high and their memory skills are not good, Associate Professor Dr. Dam Van Hue immediately goes to each class, organizes talks, shares skills, learning experiences, and smart note-taking for students.

With his training perspective, he always reminds the lecturers of the Finance - Banking department: "Each lecturer should put himself in the position of the students, to know what he will have to teach and what he can do to help them have a solid knowledge foundation. From there, students will be confident to establish themselves and start a career."

Not only dedicated to training, Associate Professor Dr. Dam Van Hue also cares and pays attention to the thoughts, wishes and feedback of lecturers and students. He always listens and creates favorable conditions for teachers and students to work and study with peace of mind. Besides, his enthusiastic encouragement and sharing also help the Finance - Banking team to always be united and develop more and more.
