Promise to Uncle Ho by teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University at the historical site K9

In order to educate the tradition of “remembering the source of water”, studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh; recently, a delegation of cadres, lecturers and medical students led by Mr. Hoang Duc Hanh - Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Dai Nam University respectfully offered incense to Uncle Ho, expressing deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the Party, State and people of Vietnam at the historical site K9 - Da Chong, Ba Vi, Hanoi. At the same time, before the beloved Uncle, teachers and students promised to be determined to teach well and study well...

The ceremony of returning to the source and offering incense to Uncle Ho is a meaningful and practical program for students to express their gratitude for the lifelong contributions and sacrifices of President Ho Chi Minh for the cause of national liberation, the struggle for peace and happiness of the people. Through that, the School wishes to foster national pride and self-esteem; create motivation in studying and training so that medical students of Dai Nam University can become good doctors with good expertise and good ethics in the future.

Teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine offer incense at the historical site K9 - Da Chong.

During the visit, Mr. Hoang Duc Hanh reviewed the results and achievements that teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine of Dai Nam University have achieved in the past time, specifically: In the 2022-2023 school year, the percentage of medical students with excellent academic results was 64%; 91% of students achieved good, good and excellent training. 100% of lecturers were evaluated as good and excellent teachers. 100% of homeroom teachers were evaluated as excellent homeroom teachers.

Scientific research work is focused on with 2 school-level scientific research topics, 6 student scientific research topics all won school-level prizes (1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes, 1 Encouragement Prize); successfully accepted 1 textbook and 1 learning document; 4 articles published in international journals; 12 articles published in domestic medical science journals.

In addition, teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine of Dai Nam University actively participate in humanitarian medical examination and treatment activities; cultural and sports activities of the school's Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

At the incense offering ceremony, Professor Hoang Duc Hanh affirmed: “The Faculty of Medicine in particular and Dai Nam University in general, vow to unite, study and follow the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh; strive our best in every task for a strong Vietnam, to have more achievements to report to Him. We respectfully ask Him to rest in peace and trust in the generation of Vietnamese students in general and the Faculty of Medicine students of Dai Nam University in particular.”

After the incense offering ceremony, the delegation of officials, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Medicine visited and listened to the tour guide reenact the important historical milestones of the K9 relic site through different names associated with each historical period of the nation. Thereby, helping teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine better understand the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh.

Mai Van Duc - a student of class YK 17.01 expressed: "I feel lucky to participate in meaningful activities of the Faculty. The trip not only helps me understand more about Uncle Ho's life and career; imbue him with his ideology, morality, life philosophy, and self-aware actions, but also is an opportunity for me, my friends, seniors, and teachers to understand and bond with each other more."

Mr. Hoang Anh (Hanoi) said that his family was very confident when choosing the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University as the place to 'entrust' their son to study: "Through the knowledge that my son acquired at school and the experiential activities he participated in, I am very confident that I have chosen the right learning environment for my son."

At Dai Nam University, in addition to studying and scientific research, students can participate in many useful extracurricular and movement activities to develop themselves comprehensively. With nearly 30 student clubs, along with a series of large-scale and grandiose movement activities such as: Love Cake, Traditional Camp, Voluntary Blood Donation, Dai Nam Colorful Cultural Festival, Gala to welcome new students, Warm Winter, Green Summer, voluntary medical examination and treatment activities, etc., Dai Nam University Medical students have more opportunities to experience reality and cultivate professional attitudes and ethics.

After the field trip to the historical site K9 - Da Chong, the delegation of cadres, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Medicine of Dai Nam University gained more understanding about the life and career of beloved Uncle Ho as well as the work that the Party Central Committee had done to preserve his body during the years from 1969 to 1975. This is useful and interesting knowledge; a practical lesson that no book can compare to.
