Dr. Nguyen Van Bao - Principal of Tay Bac University: Regulations in accordance with the people's wishes

Dr. Nguyen Van Bao
I am satisfied with the National High School Exam Regulations officially announced by the Ministry of Education and Training. The Regulations have created many favorable conditions for the examination and recruitment work.
Overall, both Regulations have been quite detailed and strict from the technical organization stage to the selection and enrollment stage.
The regulations have demonstrated community responsibility and mobilized the whole society to participate in organizing the exam to ensure success.
The highlight of the Regulation is that the Ministry decides to organize the examination in clusters. Specifically: Examination clusters for candidates taking the examination for recognition of high school graduation and university and college admission: The examination is organized for candidates from at least 2 provinces and centrally-run cities, chaired by the University, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training;
Exam cluster for candidates taking the exam to be considered for high school graduation recognition: Exams are organized at schools or inter-schools of the province, chaired by the Department of Education and Training, in coordination with universities.
This organization has satisfied the wishes of parents, students as well as schools and Departments of Education and Training.
Honestly, I used to be worried about this point. I was worried about the candidates and their families having to travel a lot, and then there was the cost, the psychology and so many other things that come with taking your child to the exam. Now, those worries and concerns have been resolved.
This will help reduce costs and pressure for families with children taking the exam. In a broader sense, the way this year's exam is organized will reduce costs for society.
Another point that I also highly agree with the Regulation announced by the Ministry of Education and Training is: Maintain the 10-point scale. This decision will not cause confusion and anxiety for candidates and schools.
To change to a 20-point scale as in the Draft Regulations, it is necessary to have a roadmap for schools and candidates to get used to it and have time to practice from the school level. Therefore, the Ministry's decision to keep the 10-point scale is completely correct and in line with the people's wishes.
Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Nghi - Principal of Hai Phong University of Tourism: Relieving psychological pressure
I agree with the regulations stated in the National High School Exam Regulations that the Ministry of Education and Training has just announced. There are 3 points that I am most satisfied with in this Regulation:
Firstly : The Ministry has organized the exam clusters as stated in the Regulations. This organization has reduced the pressure not only for parents and candidates but also for us, relieving our worries and concerns as before.
For example, with the exam cluster for candidates who only wish to graduate from high school, they will take the exam in their locality under the chairmanship of the Department of Education and Training.
This has many advantages for students such as: no psychological pressure, convenient travel and no worries about expenses. In particular, with this exam cluster, the Departments have a lot of experience in organizing, so there will be many advantages when the official exam takes place.
Second: The good thing about this Regulation is that whether it is the exam cluster for candidates wishing to apply for university or college or the exam cluster for candidates wishing to graduate from high school, there is the participation of universities and Departments of Education and Training. This has created cohesion, consensus and shared responsibility for the exam.
Third : The Ministry's decision to keep the 10-point scale the same as previous years is completely reasonable and has received the approval of most universities, colleges, high schools and candidates.
Suppose if the Ministry still decides to use a 20-point scale, I'm afraid that candidates will inevitably feel confused and worried because up until now they have been used to a 10-point scale.
And in such an important exam, it is not advisable to let students feel psychological pressure, it will affect the quality of their exam. As for the examiners, it is inevitable that they will feel confused and bewildered.
So I think, with a score of 10 is a completely wise and reasonable decision.
