The determined journey to Dai Nam University of the female valedictorian of K13

With a national high school exam score of 25.5 points, Tran Thi Huyen officially became the valedictorian of Dai Nam University for the 2019-2023 school year. Few people know that to reach the gate of her dream university, the valedictorian from Thanh Hoa had to go through a process full of pressure and difficulty.
“Rejecting” Top Universities
Born in 2000 in Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province, Tran Thi Huyen went through 2 high school exams to become the female valedictorian of Dai Nam University.
For Huyen, the days of reviewing for the 2018 high school entrance exam were difficult and arduous. Huyen spent 3 years studying for the D block according to her relatives' wishes, even though her strengths were in Literature, History, and Geography. Only 2 months before the exam did Huyen decide to change direction and study for the C block.
Determined to change majors, Huyen had to both learn new knowledge and review old knowledge. That summer, the little girl had to be hospitalized twice in the same week. Because of being influenced by too many factors, the exam results were not as expected with 23.25 points for block C and Huyen failed all her wishes, which were top universities.

Too disappointed, Huyen fell into a deadlock for a long time. “ During that time, the most difficult thing I had to go through was not failing the university entrance exam, but the fact that my parents did not understand what I wanted and needed; along with the gossiping eyes of the neighbors ” - Huyen shared.
Although Huyen passed the remaining wishes, her family, with the mindset of "must pass to a top school", opposed her from studying. Family conflicts reached their peak, Huyen once thought of giving up everything. However, fortunately, Huyen's grandmother was always by her side, encouraging her to overcome difficulties and continue to fulfill her dream.
Thanks to her grandmother's love and support, Huyen was able to "revive" her spirit, and put aside everything related to the word "university" to spend time relaxing and preparing for the next exam. Although her parents did not allow it, Huyen was determined to get on the bus to Hanoi to experience and struggle to live independently. After more than half a year of living independently, without needing financial support from her family, Huyen learned many things and realized more clearly the importance of knowledge, especially for girls.

In March 2019, Huyen returned to her hometown to continue studying for the exam with the determination to conquer the university gate once again. After many efforts to study for the exam, Huyen achieved 25.5 points in the C block - a score high enough to pass the entrance exam to top public universities. However, this time, Huyen's wishes have changed, no longer the top universities, but instead a school with suitable educational methods and learning environment.
As a person who loves PR, Huyen chose the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication of Dai Nam University as the place to place her trust and nurture her dream, despite the opposition of her family and relatives.
I believe I made the right choice…
Tran Thi Huyen was extremely impressed and loved the teaching method of Dai Nam University when learning about the school with 70% theory and 30% practice; the training program is closely linked to practice, students get to do internships at companies and businesses right from the first year...
“The learning environment is “open”, student-centered, students are free to express their wishes and opinions and evaluate lecturers after each semester. We learn specialized subjects right from the first semester, helping students grasp the basic foundation of the major. In particular, the school has a Soft Skills Department to systematically foster the necessary skills for students right from when they are still in school. After more than a semester studying at Dai Nam University, I am more certain that my decision to choose the school was completely correct. Now, my parents also understand and support me wholeheartedly. At this school, I have learned many new things and had many useful experiences…” the female Valedictorian shared.
Besides studying, Huyen also actively participates in club activities such as: D+PR Team, volunteer students... along with a series of programs, extracurricular activities, and school competitions such as Tam banh nghia tinh, Let's dance...

"Revealing" exam preparation experience
For Tran Thi Huyen, in order to study for the best results, first set your own score target. Second, you should come up with a study strategy that you feel is most effective, do not try to cram knowledge and master the knowledge in textbooks. Huyen realized that to have a successful exam, you need to be healthy, pay attention, care about your health, eat well, and do not stay up too late because this will quickly impair your memory.
As soon as she entered school, Tran Thi Huyen actively participated in extracurricular student activities.
Above is an inspiring story, the sincere sharing of the female valedictorian of K13 Tran Thi Huyen. Hopefully, students will have more experience in reviewing for exams and choosing the right university to nurture their dreams. Wish you all have wise choices on the path to conquering your passion.
