The elite of Chinese language gathered and "conquered" the Chinese Drama Competition at Dai Nam University

Not only making a splash for its quality of Chinese language training, Dai Nam University (DNU) has also made its mark as an ideal 'meeting place' for international cultural exchange for students. Recently, students from leading Chinese language training schools in the North gathered at DNU to attend the Vietnam - China Cultural Festival and "smash" the Chinese Drama Competition season 2.

Speaking at the program, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Hong - Principal of Dai Nam University said: The event is a practical playground for Chinese students to exchange, learn, explore and honor the beauty of Vietnamese and Chinese culture. At the same time, it is an opportunity for universities training Chinese to strengthen friendship and develop together in the field of Chinese.

The highly applicable training program, a team of excellent and dedicated lecturers; short training time - 3.5 years; many paid internship opportunities and connections, job support after graduation are the reasons why the number of applications to the DNU Chinese Language program increases sharply every year.

Mr. Trinh Dai Vi - Education Counselor, Chinese Embassy in Vietnam highly appreciated the international cultural exchange activities of Dai Nam University. This not only fosters the love of Chinese language for students but also contributes to promoting cooperation and exchange between colleges and universities of Vietnam and China.

Mr. Tran Quoc Chi - Head of the UNESCO Hanoi Calligraphy Club personally "dances" the calligraphy "Hoc hai vo nhai" to present to Dai Nam University.

The team from Hanoi University of Industry brought to the contest the play “A Phu’s Wife” adapted from the literary work of the same name by writer To Hoai. The images of Mi and A Phu represented the people of the Northwest highlands rising up against the landlords to seek a free and happy life for themselves.

“The Ivory Comb” is an emotional sketch that the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi brought to the contest. The sketch was adapted from the work of the same name by writer Nguyen Quang Sang, mentioning the pain of war and praising the sacred and deep father-son relationship.

The Hanoi University team brought a familiar fairy tale “Cinderella”. Kindness and perseverance helped Cinderella overcome difficulties and find happiness with the prince.

The group of students from Dai Nam University brought the famous story, “Little Red Riding Hood”, which left a deep impression on the children. The team breathed new life into the story, sending the audience a meaningful message: The forest - the home of animals is being destroyed by human hands, let's protect the forest together, protect the common home of animals and also the green lungs of the earth.

A group of students from Phenikaa University brought the play “Liang Shanbo - Zhu Yingtai” which was excerpted and adapted from the famous love story of Liang and Zhu. The play praises the love of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai but also advises young people to be alert and rational, and not to deal with their sadness in a negative way.

The Foreign Trade University team brought the play “Dream of the Red Chamber” adapted from the classic Dream of the Red Chamber. The play was vividly recreated with the characters Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu. The play sent the audience the message: love can overcome all obstacles, and at the same time supported today’s youth to bravely break down all barriers, creating a bright future for their own happiness.

A group of talented students from Hanoi Capital University brought to the contest a familiar story of Vietnamese people - "The story of a bundle of chopsticks". The story brings a message about solidarity, solidarity is strength, and at the same time, through the story, the father also brings us a message about filial piety.

The group of students from the University of Commerce concluded the competition with the play “Mustard Flower Season by the River” adapted from the short story of the same name by writer Nguyen Quang Thieu. The play was elaborately staged, delivering a meaningful message: in all painful circumstances, a person’s fate is determined by their own faith and courage to overcome.

Dr. Le Quang Sang - Head of the Chinese Department, Foreign Trade University awarded the First Prize to the team of the University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Dr. Pham Minh Tien - Head of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, University of Languages and International Studies - Vietnam National University, Hanoi awarded the Second Prize to the teams of Dai Nam University and University of Commerce.

Third Prize belongs to Hanoi University of Industry and Hanoi Capital University.

Encouragement Prizes went to Phenikaa University, Hanoi University and Foreign Trade University.

To create a dynamic learning environment, combining theory with practice, connecting and expanding the Chinese-loving community, the Department of Chinese Language and Culture, Dai Nam University will continue to organize academic intellectual playgrounds such as: Chinese Spelling, Chinese Theatre Arts, Chinese Language Festival... in the near future.
