The first university in Vietnam to apply Swiss standard Core Banking software into practical teaching

On the afternoon of December 10, 2020, Dai Nam University (DNU) signed a cooperation agreement to deploy a practical banking system with TTF Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company (TTF Solution) - a unit specializing in exploiting and developing the Core Banking software system of Temenos - Switzerland; becoming the first training institution in Vietnam to deploy Core Banking software of the famous Swiss software company into actual teaching and training of students.

According to the latest statistics in 2020, nearly 140,000 university graduates are unemployed, many of whom work but do not have the skills to meet the requirements and pursue their jobs. According to experts, in addition to the subjective causes from the learners, another factor is that practice and reality at training institutions are still lacking and weak.

Up to this point, Dai Nam University is the first training institution in the North to deploy Core Banking software.

With the applied university model, DNU pays special attention to training according to the needs of businesses and the operation of the market. In addition to building the school's businesses to both do business and serve as a place for students to practice and practice; investing in modern equipment, machinery, and skillslab systems; cooperating in business and international training, the school also regularly invites senior personnel in the industry to share and train; and buys modern software systems operating at businesses for students to get acquainted with and experience in practice.

As a result, more than 95% of students from 16 training majors of DNU have jobs in their majors after graduation, and are highly appreciated by businesses for their knowledge, skills and attitude.

Students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking will experience working as a real bank employee right from their time in the classroom.

Following that success, on the afternoon of December 10, 2020, DNU signed a cooperation agreement to deploy a practical banking system with TTF Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company (TTF Solution). With this cooperation agreement, the Faculty of Finance and Banking of DNU became the first training institution in Vietnam to deploy Core Banking software from the famous software company Temenos - Switzerland into actual teaching and training of students.

Attending the signing ceremony, on the guest side, there was the participation of Mr. Bui Dang Quan - in charge of Temenos solutions in Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Nam Phong - Director of Banking and Finance Data Analysis Center, under VNPT Group; Mr. Vu Viet Dung - Human Resources Director of MB Shinsei Finance Company Limited; Mr. Khieu Huu Thanh - Human Resources Director of Viet Phuong Group.

On behalf of Dai Nam University, there was the presence of Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Principal; leaders and all staff, lecturers, and student representatives of the Faculty of Finance - Banking.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Luong Cao Dong emphasized: “The fact that students can improve their personal capacity right at school not only helps save on actual training costs for businesses, but also creates opportunities and advantages for students themselves. In particular, the Finance - Banking industry always needs employees with practical work experience. Early practical experience along with a good foundation of knowledge, skills and attitudes is the basis for employers to be able to place orders right after graduation…”

Currently, the company's software system is being applied in more than 3,000 banks and financial companies worldwide. With this combination, Temenos hopes to accompany in building a practical banking system for DNU Finance - Banking students to access from the first year so that when graduating, they can integrate into the practical environment as quickly as possible".

At the Forum on Building a National Brand for Vietnam Banking and Financial Technology held on the morning of December 9, 2020 at the ICC International Conference Center, financial experts emphasized: Transforming operational processes towards digitalization is a requirement in the current context for banks. Banks are forced to invest heavily in technology, first of all, they need to focus on developing the Core Banking system, to integrate multi-channel supply to customers.

This further demonstrates the importance and correct direction in applying Core Banking software into the teaching practice of the Faculty of Finance - Banking, DNU.
