Threshold of faith!

GD&TĐ - On the afternoon of July 28, the Council for determining criteria to ensure the quality of admission to full-time universities and colleges in 2015 met and advised the Minister of Education and Training to decide on the minimum score threshold, also known as the floor score, for admission to universities and colleges.

This year 2015, the first time the National High School Exam is held, schools and candidates are looking forward to it with much anticipation because this year's exam scores are considered higher than the university and college exam scores in 2014.

Immediately after the announcement of the floor score, it was highly appreciated by public opinion, because it not only ensures control of input quality threshold but also fully converges regional factors, creating maximum conditions for schools to recruit students.

In this 2015 national high school exam , the whole country has more than 1 million candidates registered to take the exam, of which more than 720,000 candidates took the exam at exam clusters hosted by universities.

Of which, the number of candidates wishing to take the university and college entrance exam and take all three subjects of the traditional block A is 320,000 candidates, the number of candidates taking all three subjects of block B is 187,000 candidates, block C has 111,000 candidates and the number of candidates taking all three subjects of block D is 543,000 candidates.

Of which, group A has 110,000 candidates scoring 20 points or more, 243,000 candidates scoring 15 points or more. Group B has 45,000 candidates scoring 20 points or more, 121,000 candidates scoring 15 points or more.

In other exam blocks and subject combinations, the average score of candidates is between 16 and 18 points. Combinations of Math combined with social subjects or Foreign Languages have lower average scores, only 13 and 15 points.

Statistical results from more than 720,000 candidates taking the exam at the exam clusters hosted by universities also show that the number of candidates with average or higher scores is quite high, and gradually decreasing at higher levels.

Only 404 exams achieved perfect scores. Chemistry had the most perfect scores with 130, Math had 85 exams with 10 points, Literature had no exams with perfect scores, Biology had 35 with 10 points, Geography had 84, English had 55 and History had 10 exams with 10 points.

Based on the score distribution of candidates, admissions experts have concluded that there will be no shortage of candidates for middle and lower-ranking schools.

A score with the admission quality threshold criteria of 15 for university and 12 for college as announced is considered reasonable, because the quality of the recruitment source always goes hand in hand with the quality of training.

It is not an exaggeration when many people call the minimum threshold to ensure the quality of university and college admissions the threshold of trust . The remaining problem now is for schools, the destination is to focus on the quality of learners or the desire to call up all the established enrollment quotas.

It should be emphasized here that the autonomy belongs to the schools, but the responsibility for ensuring training quality belongs to the state management agency - the Ministry of Education and Training.

It can be said that the Floor Score Council has calculated the necessary factors to ensure that the recruitment source will meet the schools' targets. Providing a basis for building a reasonable admission score is a problem that schools must solve themselves, and society and students will monitor. Quality is the foundation for building a brand and reputation, this is a practical lesson that all schools must take into account.
