What do students majoring in Information Technology at Dai Nam University learn?
What students majoring in Information Technology at Dai Nam University learn is a concern of many young people.
At the Faculty of Information Technology, Dai Nam University, students will study basic general subjects such as:
- Computer systems and networks cover concepts related to operating systems and how computers connect to each other through network systems.
- Most popular programming languages such as: Python, C, C++, C#, Java,...
- Skills related to web design, software technology, database administration, application graphics, management software design, etc.
- Learn foreign languages and soft skills to support future careers.
In addition, there are specialized subjects, which are taught by the departments: Digital Infrastructure and Internet of Things; Data and Knowledge Technology; Smart Applications and Digital Transformation of Enterprises; Practical subjects will be managed by the Center for Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship. There are nearly 40 subjects and 12 electives in total, mainly on the latest technology. This list will be expanded annually to meet all the needs of students and businesses.
In particular, from the 2021-2022 school year, the training program of the Faculty of Information Technology will change to suit the trend of digital transformation of universities at Dai Nam. The streamlined program eliminates outdated content, continues to focus on practical requirements and improves quality to anticipate modern trends.
During the four years of studying in the IT bachelor program at DNU, after each year, students will be trained to acquire the basic knowledge, skills and virtues necessary for the job positions of “Application Analyst”, “Programmer”, “Design Engineer” and “System Architect” from the first year to the fourth year respectively. After each year, students will be able to meet the recruitment needs of businesses for the corresponding positions, and can take the Certificate exam to go to work. When conditions permit, students can return to school to complete the remaining subjects.
From the first to the fourth year, each week, students have an 8-hour internship following a process with real work content similar to that in a business. That allows students to practice skills, apply knowledge learned in a flexible and creative way and develop the habit of working in a disciplined and team-oriented manner.
With the new training program, after completing the first year, IT students at Dai Nam University can work as official employees.
Basic subjects will be taught after students have an overview of the IT industry in different fields, have a passion for the profession and have some basic programming skills. Basic subjects will be where students practice expressing basic concepts and calculation methods in programming languages. With such training, FIT-DNU students will not be afraid of programming to enter higher skills such as designing, integrating and architecting IT application systems.
Students at FIT-DNU will participate in product research and development (R&D) programs with businesses, FIT-DNU's innovative technology startups, and scientific research with leading professors in the country and around the world.
