When college professors go to get their bachelor's degrees

The President of Dai Nam University has just officially awarded the regular university degree in English Language to 36 staff and lecturers currently working and teaching at the school. This is a 2nd English diploma class organized to provide free training for all staff, lecturers and employees who need to study and improve their foreign language skills.

Continuously standardize and improve the qualifications of staff and lecturers

With the aim of standardizing and improving foreign language proficiency for staff and lecturers to best serve research, teaching and work, in December 2018, Dai Nam University organized the opening of a free university class in 2 English majors for all staff, lecturers and employees in need.

Dr. Luong Cao Dong - Principal personally awarded the graduation certificates and congratulated the new graduates of the school's first English second degree class.

Sharing about the policy of free training for English diploma 2 for staff and lecturers, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the School Board said: "Free training for English diploma 2 for staff and lecturers is a long-standing policy of Dai Nam with the aim of standardizing and improving foreign language proficiency to best serve research and teaching, thereby improving the quality of training, reputation and brand of the school..."

According to that policy, the school encourages all staff and lecturers to register to participate in the study and completely exempts tuition fees. In particular, staff and lecturers who graduate on time will be considered for a salary increase by the school as well as have the opportunity to receive other special benefits appropriate to their capacity and qualifications.

“ Don’t see your big shadow on the wall and think you are great. University lecturers, even professors and doctors, must be evaluated by their practical abilities, must constantly improve and supplement their knowledge to be able to pursue their career for a long time and teach students well. Never be satisfied with the knowledge and skills you have because the world is changing every second, every minute. Starting from 2021, cadres and lecturers who do not meet the foreign language proficiency standards according to regulations will not be considered for a salary increase…” Dr. Le Dac Son emphasized.

After 2 training sessions, 36 students of the English Diploma 2 class have successfully completed the training program and "graduated" on time.

Representing 36 new graduates receiving their diplomas, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan - lecturer of the Accounting Department expressed her gratitude to the Board of Directors of Dai Nam University, especially Dr. Le Dac Son - who took the lead in opening a second-degree English Bachelor's degree class and the teachers of the English Language Department - who directly taught. At the same time, she affirmed that this is a great opportunity for each cadre, lecturer and employee of Dai Nam to improve their qualifications.

“Although I have lived and worked in Australia for quite a long time, taking the English Diploma 2 course not only helps me acquire and learn standard knowledge but it is also an opportunity for me to standardize my degree. In particular, I can return to my days as a university student. This is an opportunity that not everyone has a second time in their life,” shared Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan.

Also at the diploma ceremony, Ms. Do Thu Huong - Head of Training Department shared her emotional thoughts about her journey of studying in the English Language Diploma 2 class: “It can be said that our English Language Diploma 2 class 12-005 is a very special class. Students come from many different units in the school; from staff, lecturers to leaders of departments/faculties. Although different in position, job, age difference, we have overcome all difficulties and obstacles together to reach the shore of glory today.

2 years is not a long time but it is enough for each of us students to know where we stand, what we want and whether our choice is right or wrong. I would like to sincerely thank the School Council and the Board of Directors for always being dedicated to creating conditions to foster and develop the capacity of the staff and lecturers of Dai Nam…”
