Tourism is the activity of people going out of their regular living and working place to other places with certain purposes such as: sightseeing, learning, resting, medical treatment, entertainment, religion - spirituality without the purpose of making money.
In today's modern society, the need for tourism is increasingly prioritized. Faced with the pressures of work and life, people constantly want to travel to relax, restore their health... thereby regenerating new energy to continue working. Tourism is a smokeless industry that brings high economic profits, prioritized by many countries in the world to develop in order to promote and build national brands and images; restore traditional cultural values... Therefore, the tourism industry is becoming an attractive profession today in most countries in the world. Doing tourism will open new doors, new opportunities for each individual.
1. Working in tourism, you will have the opportunity to travel to many places, have the opportunity to learn, explore and discover many new things. You have dreamed of conquering Fansipan peak (Sapa) - the roof of Indochina, enjoying the breathtaking beauty of Ha Long Bay, the majestic caves in Phong Nha - Ke Bang, deeply feeling the intact values of Hue royal culture... And there are many other attractive places in Vietnam. Not only exploring the diversity of Vietnamese nature and culture, you can go to many interesting tourist destinations in the world such as the Eiffel Tower in France, the Kremlin in Russia, the Great Wall in China, the Pyramids in Egypt...
You also want to enjoy the specialties of many regions, travel all over the world, and expand your cultural space. Over time, you will have a wealth of experience and life capital. If you enjoy learning and exploring life, the tourism profession will open up a whole world for you to regularly access, cultivate, and update information. There is no better school than the school of life. You can only learn the most from observing others and what you experience and draw for yourself.

Vietnam has many tourist destinations that attract foreign visitors.

2. Working in tourism, you will get to know and make friends with people from many lands, with many nationalities, ethnicities, religions… with different personalities and interests. Learning and discovering a person is also discovering a new “subculture”. Through that, each person can get closer, learn, share, and exchange with each other.
Tourism has the ability to rejuvenate the soul thanks to its ever-new environment. In other words, tourism is a profession that creates harmony in human relationships in modern society. “Tourism and social harmony” is also the message of the World Tourism Organization (WTO).
3. Not only does it improve communication and behavioral skills, Tourism is also a profession that helps you practice many other skills in life and work. It is flexibility, agility, and sensitivity in many situations; it is calmness, certainty, and carefulness in every detail of work; it is the ability to organize and solve problems that arise during work; it is the skill of solving situations...
Tourism is also a profession that teaches us how to “endure” to adapt more easily to life. Every profession requires self-training, however, the characteristic of tourism is a service profession, often in contact with customers, so this requirement becomes much more necessary.
4. Tourism is also a service sector that accounts for a large proportion of the economy. Our country is focusing on developing and expanding the tourism economy, considering tourism as a key economic sector of the country. The number of domestic and foreign tourists in Vietnam has been increasing continuously in recent years, which is a condition for the tourism industry to have more and more potential and opportunities for further development. For Vietnam, tourism is a young economic sector and is lacking professional, high-quality human resources. Therefore, there will be many job opportunities with attractive and stable income for those who truly love the industry, love the profession and are skilled in the industry and profession.
Why did you choose tourism? As for me, I chose tourism because: TOURISM is NEVER a boring job, but a job that involves both working and exploring, learning and training yourself. And I have set myself a motto to integrate into the tourism industry - that is: "TOURISM - GO TO LEARN".
