Health is the most valuable “asset” of every human being. In addition to studying to accumulate and practice knowledge and morality, the young generation needs to know how to practice and protect their health. This is especially important in the context of a polluted living environment and rampant epidemics like today. The habit of practicing and protecting health properly from a young age will follow people for the rest of their lives; it is an indispensable provision for integration and development in today's rapidly developing era. This is the reason why Dai Nam University (DNU) attaches special importance to physical training and constantly innovates its training program in line with the reality and needs of learners to contribute to training and nurturing generations of intellectuals with sufficient morality - intelligence - physical fitness - aesthetics.

Accordingly, starting from the 2022-2023 school year, DNU students can choose their favorite sport to study, maximizing and fully developing their abilities. In particular, elective subjects such as: Martial arts, yoga, dance are trained by a team of lecturers who are professional athletes with many years of experience from the School's Faculty of Sports Economics and Marketing.

DNU students are free to choose the sport they love to practice.

Sharing about this policy of Dai Nam University, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal said: Physical education is a systematic, purposeful, and organized form of education aimed at imparting knowledge and skills related to movement. Physical education is combined with other aspects of education to improve morality - intelligence - physique - aesthetics, etc., creating a balanced, harmonious, and comprehensive development of a person.

For students, physical education is increasingly important because this is a sensitive period for physical and personality development and perfection. Good health will help improve mental health, promote intellectual training, achieve high efficiency in learning; promote confidence, positivity and initiative in school and social sports activities; understand self-training methods...

“In fact, physical education is being “underestimated” at many universities. The boring curriculum with imposed sports makes students lose interest in practicing, only learning to cope, to pass the subject. Many students also have a “physical obsession” because their physical condition cannot cope with the weight of the subject. With the new and different physical training program, DNU students will no longer be haunted, physical education will truly become an attractive subject that helps improve students’ health both physically and emotionally…”, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa affirmed.

With elective subjects such as Yoga, Dance, Self-defense, etc., students will be trained comprehensively in physical and mental aspects.

What do students get when studying the new, different physical education program at Dai Nam University?

Choose your favorite sport

In order to create a dynamic and comfortable learning environment for students, Dai Nam University has innovated the Physical Education training program in the direction of student self-selection. Thereby creating conditions for students to have many opportunities to choose learning content suitable to their abilities, needs and strengths. Thereby improving students' physical strength and learning outcomes.

The training program is designed to shorten the theoretical training time and increase the practical time. Accordingly, students must accumulate 03 Physical Education credits. Of which, credit 1 is a compulsory subject with 15 hours of theory. Credits 2 and 3 are elective sports with 60 hours of practice.

Students can choose subjects that 'rarely appear' in the physical education training program: Yoga, Dance, Self-defense... With elective subjects, students will be trained comprehensively in physical and mental health, increase flexibility, and can practice and apply in daily life.

In addition, the curriculum is very diverse, from physical exercises to muscle training, multi-functional training, dancing, etc., bringing novelty and excitement to students. Through that, students are also encouraged to participate in physical education and sports movements throughout the school.

Experience modern learning space

Not only investing in the system of practice rooms, Dai Nam University students are also developed comprehensively in terms of physical and mental health with the system of physical buildings, soccer fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts... right on campus. The physical building with a construction area of 1160 m2 allows training in many sports at the same time. The spacious, clean and beautiful playground system ensures to serve students' activities and relaxation after stressful and enthusiastic training hours.

In addition, every year, Dai Nam University reviews the quality of learning tools and adds new technological equipment to support students' learning and training.
