Why is iron important for health?

Human blood cells are made up of red blood cells and white blood cells. Red blood cells have the function of transporting oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and transporting CO2 from the tissues to be excreted through the lungs. Red blood cells contain hemoglobin called Hemoglobin (hemoglobin) which is red in color. The red color is due to hemoglobin consisting of 4 polypeptide chains (meat substance) attached to an Iron (Fe) molecule. Crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs have blue blood because hemoglobin contains copper (Cu) molecules.

Iron plays an extremely important role in human health.
The iron requirement of a person is 3 grams for men and 2.5 grams for women. Currently, there are over 500 million people in the world who are iron deficient. Iron deficiency will cause anemia; rapid heartbeat causing stress and fatigue; hair loss, brittle nails; memory and intelligence loss; weakened immune system and reproductive ability; sluggish body functions; reduced fertility and miscarriage…

How to supplement iron properly? Iron plays an extremely important role in health. We can supplement iron with a varied, nutritious diet. This is considered the most sustainable solution to improve iron deficiency. Foods rich in iron include: beef, animal liver, lean meat, dark green leafy vegetables (kale, spinach, etc.), pumpkin seeds, etc. In addition to supplementing iron through food, we can supplement iron with iron tablets prescribed by a doctor.

How long do red blood cells live?

Red blood cells are blood cells that specialize in transporting oxygen to cells for use and receiving CO2 as waste to be discharged to the lungs. The life of a red blood cell is from the time it is born in the bone marrow, enters the blood to perform its duties, then gradually ages and after 120 days dies in the spleen. The spleen is the "graveyard" for burying red blood cells. Here, dead red blood cells are decomposed and the body retrieves iron (Fe) to send to the bone marrow to regenerate new red blood cells.

Does eating a lot of sweets cause acne or pimples on the face?

Sweets are one of the culprits that cause acne.

A normal person has a total skin area of about 1.5 - 2 square meters. On the skin there are hair follicles for the body to excrete some waste products. There is oil in the hair follicles, so if the skin secretes a lot of oil, there will be excess and bacteria living on the skin will eat the oil and cause acne. Research shows that eating a lot of sugary sweets will increase excess oil and easily cause acne.
