With the aim of helping students equip themselves with skills to work in a global, multicultural environment, recently, the Faculty of Business Administration, Dai Nam University successfully organized the "Talkshow on Skills Needed to Work in a Multicultural Environment" with the sharing of Ms. Dang Vu Thanh Binh - Director of Golden BC PTY Company - Adelaide, Australia.

The Talkshow attracted the attention of more than 200 students with a lot of useful knowledge and questions shared and discussed.

Sharing with students, Ms. Thanh Binh said: Globalization makes integration an inevitable issue. Connections between countries become more popular and frequent in all areas of social life. This is both an opportunity and a great challenge for the young generation. In order to become global citizens; to seek attractive career opportunities in a dynamic, modern, and highly rewarding environment; to work in a multicultural environment; to be able to access advanced learning opportunities in countries around the world, young people should learn about cultural barriers, equip themselves with the skills to adapt and integrate when studying and working in a multicultural environment from a very early age...

At the Talkshow, Ms. Dang Vu Thanh Binh also highlighted cultural barriers coming from basic characteristics and habits, such as: Differences coming from traditional ethnic factors and language.

To integrate into the culture, what skills do Business Administration students need to equip themselves with?

Answering this question from students of the Faculty of Business Administration, Ms. Dang Vu Thanh Binh shared that, first of all, with a new environment, new colleagues or superiors, coming from different cultures, patience and understanding help young people easily approach a new culture. When accepting to participate in a global playground, or determined to integrate into a new culture, limiting personal ego, avoiding prejudices and stereotyped views is the right thing to do. Try to learn how to accept new ideas and learn how to adapt to different cultures.

Second, in studying, communicating and working, we still pay attention to "integrating but not dissolving" in terms of culture. This requires tact and subtlety. The context and space for working and communicating from different cultures should be as open as possible for individuals to express their own personalities, communication cultures and accept the most common, harmonious and best culture.

Third, after integrating into new cultures, it is necessary to learn and use common language and symbols. This is extremely important in working and studying. It ensures that interactions in communication are long-lasting and sustainable.

Fourth, when in doubt about something, feel free to ask questions if you are unsure.

Fifth, Improve language skills and be able to communicate in different languages.

Sixth, learn about the culture - where you plan to live - their norms and practice communication and work skills in advance to be able to adapt quickly.
