Workshop with the participation of teachers and students of Economics
The Faculty of Banking and Finance, Dai Nam University is one of the key faculties, attracting many students to study. After 8 years, Dai Nam University has trained 5 graduating classes of Banking and Finance students. Currently, more than 80% of the students of the Banking and Finance Faculty of Dai Nam University have stable jobs at banks, state-owned or private enterprises. In recent years, although banks are screening their staff, Banking is still loved by the young generation. According to Mr. Le Duc Hung - Director of Techcombank, " Banking is an industry with easy job opportunities, stable work, and different salaries".
Opening the workshop, Ms. Le Thi Hang - Representative of BTCI introduced to students about BTCI Institute, the demand for human resources in the banking industry. BTCI is an institute specializing in training/consulting/researching in the field of banking and finance according to international standards in Vietnam. This will be a good opportunity for Dai Nam students in the economic sectors, especially Banking, to improve their professional skills, better understand banks as well as their jobs after graduation.

Next, Mr. Le Duc Hung - Director of Techcombank, Ha Tay branch also shared and evaluated the capacity and skills required for a student majoring in Banking and Finance and the conditions for students to apply for a job at the Bank. He commented: "Currently, after graduating, students' professional banking skills are still poor, and their professional skills are still lacking. Their communication skills are better than our generation, but most of them are still passive and have not shown dynamism in the banking working environment" . Therefore, Mr. Hung highly appreciated the training method at Dai Nam University. Introducing soft skills subjects, increasing the English curriculum, especially regularly holding seminars and exchanging with experts are very practical and effective teaching methods for students of Dai Nam University. He emphasized, “ We recruit employees not based on qualifications, regardless of which university they graduated from, but what we need is what they can do, they convince us with their abilities during the working process. We need them to have passion, love for the job and be able to withstand work pressure in the banking environment.”

At the end of the workshop, Mr. Le Duc Hung and Ms. Le Thi Bang created an interview for Dai Nam students. Although it was just a practice, the interview would take place like a real recruitment interview. Mr. Hung gave questions and situations of an interview that he often conducts to recruit staff. Although the students had no prior preparation, they were very bold in participating in the interview. This helped students to practice, test their professional knowledge, soft skills and understand what they need to prepare when going for an interview.

The seminar “Students and working in banking” is an opportunity for students of Finance, Accounting and Business Administration at Dai Nam University to approach banking and business experts; exchange job information. The seminar is also a bridge between Dai Nam students - future banking candidates with experts, leaders and bank personnel managers.
