II - Workshop objectives
1. Changing the vision of the global economy
Over the past 10-15 years, the global economy has witnessed a major transformation with a group of rapidly developing economies such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, which economists refer to as “Emerging Economies” or “Growth Markets”. These economies represent promising markets and are forecast to be strong economic drivers of the world in the coming decades. In addition to these economies, there is a group of very promising economies that are attracting the attention of the world, with countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, and South Korea forecast to have many breakthrough developments in the next two to three decades.
2. Economic progress eliminates poverty
Over the years, emerging economies have been gradually narrowing the gap between themselves and developed economies. Economic development has helped lift a significant portion of the population in developing countries out of poverty and has created a promising economic base for investors. Liberalization and globalization measures in these countries have begun to yield significant results in recent years. Strong changes in institutions, infrastructure and many other aspects have ensured the feasibility of rapid development. One thing is clear: economic progress and growth are the only way to improve the living standards of people in the long run. Real investments with visionary leadership will ensure major progress for any economy. It is undeniable that comprehensive and sustainable economic progress requires the participation of all economic sectors in society.
At its core, “inclusive and sustainable economic growth” is the only path to rapid economic progress. In this perspective, the upcoming conference in the beautiful country of Vietnam will strive to achieve the following goals:
a) Identify and analyze the main drivers of economic progress in emerging and developing economies;
b) Systematically identify the most important factors contributing to ensuring comprehensive and sustainable economic development;
c) To provide an ideal platform for researchers, economists, bankers and experts in the fields to share their research and practical experiences on the emerging issues addressed in the conference theme;
d) Propose appropriate solutions to ensure the development of the global economy, bringing prosperity and sustainable economic development to the world.
