Press release: International scientific conference “Improving the Fintech development ecosystem in Vietnam”

On November 22, 2023, Dai Nam University organized an International Conference with the theme "Improving the Fintech development ecosystem in Vietnam".

The content of the Conference will discuss issues in the field of financial technology and aim at three basic goals: (1) create a forum for scientists, managers, researchers and scholars to exchange knowledge, share experiences on conditions to support and promote the development of Fintech in Vietnam; (2) create opportunities for Fintech companies, commercial banks and businesses that are applying and using Fintech products to raise difficulties and obstacles in the operation process, thereby proposing recommendations to contribute to creating a more favorable ecosystem for the development of Fintech in Vietnam in the coming time; and (3) enhance scientific research capacity and develop training programs in the field of financial technology (Fintech) to contribute to consolidating and enhancing the position of Dai Nam University in the face of opportunities and challenges of the current digital age.

Participants and Conference Proceedings

The workshop was attended by delegates who are managers from state leadership and management agencies such as the Government Office, the Central Economic Committee, the National Assembly Economic Committee, relevant Ministries and Branches; Delegates are lecturers and scientists from universities at home and abroad; Delegates are finance, banking and technology experts from commercial banks, businesses and Fintech companies.

Up to now, the Conference has received 108 articles (of which 94 have been peer reviewed and edited) from scientists, managers, domestic and foreign Fintech experts, managers and Fintech experts.

The research articles all focus on exploiting the main issues of the Conference's theme, such as perfecting the legal framework and proposing policies to the Government, promoting cooperation between commercial banks and businesses with Fintech technology companies, strengthening risk management as well as increasing the quantity and improving the quality of human resources to meet the needs of Fintech development in Vietnam.

Keynote speakers at the Conference are expected to include: Mr. Hessel Abbink Spaink (Netherlands), Mr. Maxx Tsai (Taiwan), Mrs. Vaz, Elishia, Benchmark Suite (USA); Dr. Hans Chen, Taiwan; Prof. Tsang, Monash University (Australia), and domestic speakers;...

The results of the Workshop will be reflected through recommendations that will be collected and sent to competent authorities such as the National Assembly Economic Committee, the Party Central Committee's Economic Committee, the Government Office, the State Bank, the Ministry of Finance, the National Financial Supervision Committee as well as relevant ministries, branches and units. The Workshop is expected to contribute to the completion of the Fintech development ecosystem in Vietnam, keeping up with the trends and developments of countries in the region and the world.

The cooperation between Dai Nam University and Asia University opens up opportunities for experts and entrepreneurs in the industry to work together to build a healthy Fintech ecosystem, promote innovation, enhance competitiveness, expand opportunities for connection and cross-border cooperation for the Vietnamese economy to develop more sustainably.
