No wonder students “ask to retake” DNU Soft Skills Camp

Every year, in mid-November, the Soft Skills Training Camp - a "specialty" of Dai Nam University - is about to return. This unique competition format attracts students with its interesting, useful and highly challenging experiential activities. It especially helps young people break down all barriers to affirm their bravery, talent, creativity and formidable teamwork ability. Therefore, the Soft Skills Training Camp is not only eagerly awaited by new students but also by previous students who wish to "study again".
Want to retake the exam, want to retake the course and want the school to increase the duration.
First time experiencing a learning model combining military camp and summer camp
Soft Skills Training Camp is a unique form of experiential learning only available at Dai Nam University. With a learning model that combines military camp with summer camp, the “new recruits” can experience the discipline and strictness of the army while enjoying the fun and relaxation of recreational activities.
The challenges are a combination of Intelligence - Strength - Skills, carefully researched and designed by teachers of the Soft Skills Training and Development Department. Interesting experiential activities with attractive names such as: Stairway to Heaven, Magic Puzzle, Solidarity Steps, Relay Race, Team Strength... help the "rookies" break all limits, unleash all their youthful energy, agility and creativity to "study hard, play hard".
Soft Skills Training Camp is a 1-0-2 experience in the life of every new student of Dai Nam University.
With each physical game, students apply and develop teamwork skills, time management skills, reasoning and presentation skills, body language skills in communication, listening, sharing with teammates, perseverance, solidarity, etc. At the same time, the challenge rounds also help students practice confidence, leadership skills, 'warrior' spirit - determination to achieve goals and win.
“Solidarity Steps” is one of the interesting challenges and experiences of the Soft Skills Camp.
Students are more active, confident and mature after participating in the Soft Skills Camp.
Le Ha Thanh - class LKT 16.02 shared: "Soft skills training camp is a very interesting and unique form of competition, helping me reduce exam pressure and improve my health and exercise habits. Soft skills camp has helped me improve my listening skills, team management, public speaking, adapting to change... If possible, I hope to experience Soft skills training camp once a year".
One tree alone cannot make a forest, the whole team together can do nothing.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of Soft Skills Training and Development Department said: "With diverse and rich experiential activities and increasing levels of difficulty, we hope that young people will break their own limits, maximize their Talent - Intelligence - Physical strength; become good citizens, and be the "core" in the domestic and foreign labor market".
Experience special emotions
Entering the Soft Skills Training Camp, the new students experienced special emotions. It was the happiness of stepping out of their comfort zone for the first time to fight with their teammates; the overwhelming emotions of finding a strategy and reaching the finish line together, the excitement of hearing the results announced; the regret of losing points; the pride of having great teammates who always love, support and help each other improve.
Above all, at the emotional experience program in the evening, the “new recruits” will watch meaningful videos about family; listen to the letters of friends to their families… This is also a quiet moment for young people to understand that they are lucky to be able to study, play, have a family, teachers and friends who love them. From there, they will know how to appreciate life, be grateful to their parents - those who sacrifice their whole lives, “squeeze” their lives to take care of and guide their children to become good people.
Candles of gratitude to parents and teachers light up the DNU hall.
Do Thi Thao – Pharmacy class 16.02 is still impressed with the emotional experience and attitude change of the Soft Skills Camp. The female student said that she immediately called her family to say thank you and apologize for not being able to tell her parents for so long.
“The Soft Skills Training Camp has given me very special emotions that I can never forget. I feel more appreciative of life, love my family, teachers and friends more. I will try to study hard to succeed, to become the pride of my parents…”, 10X expressed.
Expanding the circle of Dai Nam University students
For young men and women who are still unfamiliar with the university environment, the Soft Skills Camp is both a training place and a playground to help connect Dai Nam University students. Students from many different classes and majors have the opportunity to interact, work in groups and become closer and more united even though they are not in the same class or department...
The “Team Power” challenge brings young people together.
Jackets, masks… are all used to bring water back to teammates.
Ready to fight for victory for the team.
Nguyen Nhat Minh - class YDK 16.01 also believes that it is necessary to promote collective strength: "The Soft Skills Camp has given me the opportunity to meet and "fight" with great teammates. Until now, we still keep in touch, accompany and support each other in our studies."
A game becomes easy with strategy, skill and team unity.
The Soft Skills Training Camp certainly leaves many beautiful emotions and memories, one-of-a-kind in the hearts of every Dai Nam University student. Lessons on solidarity, teamwork skills, leadership, time planning, reasoning, judgment, self-positioning, love for family, society… will be important provisions for every young person on the path to advancement in the future.
The Basic Soft Skills Training Camp for K17 freshmen taking place from November 19 to December 10, 2023 promises to bring useful lessons and skills; helping 5,300 K17 students have beautiful, clear memories during their university time.
